Beginning Monday, March 1st, South Middle School will begin 4 days of consecutive instruction for all students. Please see the following outline for both A and B Day students:
Mondays & Tuesdays
A Day in person students – will attend classes in person at South Middle
A Day virtual students and ALL B Day students– will attend classes virtually, with live instruction, through Google Meets
Wednesdays & Thursdays
B Day in person students – will attend classes in person at South Middle
B Day virtual students and ALL A Day students- will attend classes virtually, with live instruction, through Google Meets

March 22nd, all hybrid students (tracks A and B) will attend classes all four days of school.
All virtual students (track C and D) will continue logging on to attend virtual classes. Friday will remain our Growth Day and offer Fresh Start sessions.
The South Family is happy to introduce you to our newest member, Ms. Dawn Hanrahan. Ms. Hanrahan comes to us from Elmira Heights, New York where she served as Principal for Cohen Middle School for 11 years. Before her tenure as principal, she served as the Director of Special Education, a role that she continued through her principalship. Ms. Hanrahan started her career in education in the classroom as a special education teacher in 2000. She is a proud graduate of the State of New York University at Geneseo, the State University of New York University at Cortland, and the University of Phoenix where she earned degrees in elementary education, special education, advance study of school district administration, as well as an MBA. Ms. Hanrahan is the proud mother of 4 sons, and she enjoys running, kayaking, and traveling whenever possible. Ms. Hanrahan is most looking forward to working at what she loves and what she is passionate about with a fresh group of people. We are excited to learn from and work with Ms. Hanrahan. Welcome home!
If you need Chromebook assistance, repair, or replacement, you may come to the school for that assistance from 8am-8:45 am or 2:45 pm-3:30 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Appointments are available throughout the day Wednesday, but must be made at least one school day in advance.
The tech coach can best assist you through email, hannah.merrill@lcsd.k12.sc.us. Questions about specific assignments, should be directed to the teach who gave the assignment. Scheduling issues and concerns should be directed to guidance.
Lancaster area schools
Elementary schools will operate from 7:50 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.
Middle schools will operate from 8:40 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.
High school will operate from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
