Begin Preparing for the 25-26 School Year Childcare and School Vaccine Requirements Make sure your child is up to date with vaccines. To beat the back to school rush, don’t wait until summer break. A good time to get vaccines is during a yearly well-child checkup. Be sure to get an updated SC Certificate of Immunization for your school nurse. Documentation of vaccination status is required, by state law, for school attendance. Contact your child’s school nurse with questions or concerns. The Lancaster County Health Department also provides vaccines. Call (855)472-3432 to schedule an appointment. For more information about vaccinations in South Carolina, visit https://dph.sc.gov/public/vaccinations Registration for New and Returning Students Online registration should be completed for all new and returning students. https://www.lancastercsd.com/page/student-registration It is important to notify your child’s school nurse of any illness or condition that your child has that may require medical support during the school day. Medication If your child will need prescription medication during the school day, the Permission for School Administration of Medication form must be completed and signed by your child’s doctor.
