August 9, 2024 - Due to weather concerns and in order to provide time for schools to be ready for Monday, August 12, 2024, ALL student orientation for 6th and 9th graders and Indian Land 5th and 7th graders has been canceled. Open houses and other orientations have been canceled, and you will receive information from your child's school regarding rescheduling. Lancaster County School District will be OPEN for normal operating hours for staff.

LCSD CLOSED August 8, 2024 Lancaster County School District has been in contact with Emergency Management. Lancaster County is currently under a flood watch. Due to potential flooding and hazardous conditions caused by Tropical Storm Debby, as a safety precaution, ALL Lancaster County schools, buildings, and facilities will be closed on Thursday August 8, 2024. ALL events and activities are cancelled. ALL open houses and orientations scheduled for August 8, 2024 are canceled and will be rescheduled.

Insurance for students is now available. IMPORTANT: --The Premium noted in the Voluntary Brochure is for coverage from the day after payment is processed until 8/31/2025 or the first day of school in 2025 (whichever comes first). It is NOT a Monthly Premium!! It is a one-time payment. --Students and Employees can enroll at any time during the year. --If the student enrolls online, he/she will receive a Confirmation of Coverage upon payment processing. It will be automatically emailed to the participant. --Keep in mind that this is limited coverage, and it is likely that it will not pay for all services. It is meant to supplement the student’s primary insurance or to provide some coverage should the student not have any insurance at all. Calling all Rising 7th-12th graders interested in wrestling this year. We will be holding a camp for our wrestlers from 8-2 July 29th - Aug. 2nd in the Lancaster High wrestling room. Here is a list of things you need to have with you: - A change of practice attire. (Wear one pair, but bring an extra) - Wrestling shoes (we have some extras in the room) - Running shoes - Water bottle - Knee pads (you definitely want to have these for this week) - Pack a lunch to bring with you. Pickup is at 2:00. Come ready with your mind and body ready to learn and get better!! * There is no fee. This camp is for all rising 7th-12th graders that attend South, AR Rucker, Lancaster High, or homeschool students zoned for Lancaster.

This Thursday afternoon, May 23rd, all 8th graders will turn in their Chromebooks and chargers. To avoid any fees for damages or loss, please begin locating Chromebooks and chargers now so they can turned in Thursday afternoon. Lost chargers cost $45. Cash, card, or checks made payable to A. R. Rucker Middle can be sent to cover any fees. Rising ninth graders will be issued new Chromebooks in August from their new high schools.

Beginning this summer, LCSD will phase out our current email/call communication system, Blackboard Connect. It will be replaced with Apptegy Alerts. Be on the lookout for communication from this new system and do not "delete" or "unsubscribe." Remember, this communication is from the school and the district, and lots of important information is shared through this email/call system.
