It’s a good day to learn…even during the summer! ☀️ Members of our Erwin leadership team attended the PLCs at Work Institute in Charlotte, NC. They are excited to bring back all the knowledge they have gained over the last 3 days.
We will ALL Grow Together as Learners this year! 🐻

Return to School Parent Invitation

We love seeing our children enjoying the summer days! ☀️

It's time to meet another new Bear! We'd like to welcome Mrs. Nikki Gates. She is joining the family as our Assistant Principal. Here's a message from Mrs. Gates:
Hello Erwin family! My name is Nikki Gates, and it is my honor to serve you as Assistant Principal this school year!
I am a SC native, was raised in Kershaw County, and have spent the last 15 years in Lancaster County. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of South Carolina and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Winthrop University. I began my teaching career in Chesterfield County where I spent 2 years teaching Biology at Central High School. In 2018, I accepted a science position at Andrew Jackson High School where I enjoyed 6 more years in the classroom.
When I’m not at work, you can find me spending time with my husband and our 3 children. We stay busy with sports, church, and school, so when we get down time we enjoy pulling our camper somewhere to unwind.
I am excited about all of the wonderful things going on at Erwin and already feel right at home! As your assistant principal, I want to capitalize on all of the excellent parts of Erwin and plan to support teachers as we continue to push our students to reach their full potential each day.
It’s going to be a great year! 💙🐻💙

Help us welcome Mr. Blake Myers to the Erwin family! He will be joining our 4th grade team as the Science and Social Studies teacher. Here is a message from Mr. Meyers: My name is Blake Myers and I’m originally from Troutville, VA. My wife and I just recently moved to the Indian Trail, NC area and we are loving it. I graduated from Liberty University with a bachelors degree in Business Administration and I received my Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Covenant College this past May! I was fortunate and blessed to be able to play soccer at both Liberty and Covenant. This will be my second year teaching, and I am so excited to have the opportunity to do so at Erwin Elementary. I am looking forward to building some great relationships and becoming a part of such an amazing community!

We are excited to welcome yet another new member to the Erwin team! Mrs. Tina Sanders will be joining us as a 2nd grade teacher this year. Here is a message from Mrs. Sanders:
My name is Tina Sanders. I am married with three boys. They are 19, 2 years, and the youngest is 5 months old. This will be my fifth year working in education, and my first year in my own classroom. I graduated last year from Grand Canyon University with a dual bachelors in elementary education and special education. My favorite place to vacation is in the mountains with my family. I enjoy working on craft projects and I attend regular services at my church, where I work within the Children’s Ministry and am on the woman’s board. I am excited to share this year with my new 2nd graders and can’t wait to get to know each one.

It’s time to introduce another new Bear! Mrs. Brittany Finucane has been a part of the Erwin Family as a parent, and will now be joining as a teacher too! She will be joining our 3rd grade team this year. Here is a message from Mrs. Finucane:
Greetings! I am Mrs. Finucane and I will be teaching 3rd grade at Erwin Elementary. I have my Masters degree in elementary education. I have been teaching 3rd grade for 4 years now. I love taking on new adventures and I am ecstatic to take on this new adventure with my Erwin family.

We will have several new faces joining the Erwin family for the 2024-2025 school year, so we want to begin introducing them to you! First we want to welcome MaKenzie Eddins! See the message from Ms. Eddins below!

Remember, this communication is from the school and the district, and lots of important information is shared through this email/call system.
